This 19" diameter bowl is made from a maple tree that blew down last spring
in the park across from the 
house. Blair turned it green so it's
still quite wet and unstable. He has applied several coats of quick-dry finish on
the bowl to prevent warping and cracking. He will wait several months before he declares
it a success. The bowl is setting on a mound of its own shavings. Since it started
as a 100+ lb. chunk of wood, there were heaps of shavings in the shop.
