Holidays as they should be...
This charming four bedroom self-catering 'gite' is found in the hamlet whose name, le Puech, is derived from the ancient dialect of Occitane, meaning 'high place', or 'peak'. Located in what is known as the Bouriane region of the Lot department, between Perigord and Quercy.
Time passes more slowly in the Lot...
Simple pleasures are abundant, and your senses more in tune to the wonders of nature. Lie in the grass watching butterflies and walking sticks, discover wild orchids in the woods, observe woodpeckers and their 'niches' in the old oak trees, make brown-eyed contact with a deer, count shooting stars, listen for owls on their nightly hunt.
Time slows down and you can too.
The hamlet is calm and private. There are five houses, only two of which are permanent residences. While we (the owners) live next door, your privacy is our priority. However, if you should need assistance with phoning, making reservations, etc., just ask. We're happy to help.
Nearby villages offer a full spectrum of shops and services. We are situated between Catus with its lake, fishing, swimming, tennis, shops, market, and pharmacy, and Cazals which also has full services as well as a wonderful Sunday market.

While the southwest is famous for its gastronomy - foie gras, wines, walnuts, and truffles; the simple, rural lifestyle and setting is its charm. Le Puech is a perfect location for day trips to nearby historical and natural attractions such as Rocamadour, St. Cirq la Popie, Pech Merle, cruises on the Lot river, Cahors, Gourdon...just to name a few. In addition, you will find numerous music festivals, local village 'fêtes', farmers markets, theater, and flea markets during the summer months. Nearby restaurants offer a broad spectrum, from a simple family-style meal to a Michelin star rating.
Seventeen villages comprise the 'communauté de communes' of Catus, and each has its own mapped walking trail to discover lakes, windmills, fountains, 'gariottes' and castles. Approximately one hour from the Toulouse-Blagnac airport, Bordeaux 2.5 hours away, and the Dordogne next door.
